Art
Creative Expression Through Color, Texture, and Imagination
Art is a daily part of our classroom experience and an essential part of early childhood development. Each day, children engage in themed crafts and open-ended art projects that align with our weekly curriculum topics—encouraging creativity while reinforcing what they’re learning in class.
Our young artists explore a wide range of materials and mediums, including:
- Paint, markers, crayons, and oil pastels
- Glue, tissue paper, popsicle sticks, buttons, and beads
- Sponges, stamps, collage pieces, and natural items like leaves and sand
These creative experiences help children build fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and independence. Just as importantly, art gives every child the chance to express their thoughts and feelings in a visual, meaningful way—there’s no “right” or “wrong,” just the joy of creating.
Art time at MJLC is messy, meaningful, and magical—just the way childhood should be.
