A magical educational journey challenges the mind, nurtures the heart, and strengthens the body for all children every day. Accordingly, our curriculum reflects our belief that each child is a scholar, leader, and philanthropist. As such, it is designed to teach the whole child; all curricular components are interconnected. No subject is taught in isolation.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I monitor my child’s progress?2018-06-10T18:12:14-07:00

Magical Journey Learning Center conducts formal parent-teacher conferences in the Fall and Spring. Informal conferences may be scheduled at any time. Throughout the year, teachers will often email or call parents regarding their child’s achievements. You can count on our teachers to respond to email within 24 hours. Remember, of course, that our teachers will not be checking email, voice mail, or texts until after your children have been dismissed.

Is lunch provided?2018-06-25T22:23:14-07:00

All students bring their own water bottle, snack and lunch to school. Children attending the half-day option need to bring a healthy snack and a water bottle. Please inform us if your child has any food allergies. We will work with you to ensure his/her safety.

Is before and after care provided?2018-06-25T22:31:49-07:00

Before and after care services are provided at an additional cost. The before school care program is scheduled from 6:45 AM – 7:50 AM. The after-school care program operates from 2:30 PM – 6:00 PM. We also have care programs available during Fall, Winter, and Spring Break. All special care programs have weekly or daily options.

The regular school day begins at 8:00 AM. Students may arrive as early as 7:50 AM. If students need to be dropped off prior to 7:50 AM, before school care begins at 6:45 AM.

Are there opportunities for parents to volunteer?2018-06-13T01:05:24-07:00

Parents are encouraged to participate in classroom activities. While we appreciate all volunteering at our school, we really need volunteers to assist in the classroom during daily core academic time. This helps reduce the instructional group size even more, and we know how important that is to our parents. We are proud of our monthly activities and hope parents will sign up to help ensure memorable, magical learning experiences for everyone! Some of these special events include: Batty Bedtime, Fall Festival, Penguin Daddy Day, the Daddy Olympics, Polar Express, and a Patriotic Program.

We understand that not all parents are available to volunteer during the day; however, they may have special talents or services that would benefit our school. Here are some ways parents can help before or after school – prepare classroom materials, complete construction projects, coordinate field trips, and various other tasks. If you can assist our school, please let us know.

What is the student-to-teacher ratio?2018-06-13T01:06:30-07:00

The student-to-teacher ratio will hover around 10:1, depending on grade level. We believe that whole group teaching is not the most effective delivery of instruction for young children. Therefore, the assistance of full-time aides ensures that the children are instructed in a small group with adequate support.
